i've been wanting a case for my laptop for a while now and with college starting next week the 'want' soon became a 'need', as i'll be transporting it to and from, everyday.
i had bought an offcut of upholstery fabric a few years back, with the intention to make a handbag. needless to say, i never really got around to it. mum found it the other day and thought she'd have a go at making an envelope style cover for my computer. we also had one of my dads old corduroy shirts lying around, so mum cut the back out to use for the lining. (here's hoping he didn't still want the shirt!) she also put a layer of wadding in between for extra thickness / protection.
buttons were also found in amongst our stash of goodies.
my mum's a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to sewing. she doesn't cut corners and spends the extra time to make sure it's done right, so the outcome was pretty fantastic.
i admire this in her, because i definitely don't have the patience!
i love it! thanks mumma. xo
