almighty God, our heavenly father, we remember with thanksgiving those who made the supreme sacrifice for us in time of war. we pray that the offering of their lives may not have been in vain and that they may rest in peace.
have mercy on our broken and divided world by giving your Spirit of peace to all people, removing from them the spirit which makes for war, that all may live in peace. Lord, hear our prayer.
lest we forget.
